Discussing a Unified Theory Approach in Child Psychotherapy
Nadja Rolli opened the discussion for our first Professional Seminar for Child Psychotherapists
The Child Psychotherapy Council Online Seminar
Thursday 22nd May 2025 7pm to 8.30pm
Facilitator: Nadja Rolli
Based on the research paper:
Tattersall, T. C., Rolli, N. & Butwell, M. (2024), Integrative child psychotherapy: discussion of a common core and unified theory approach. AIMS Medical Science, 11(2): 181-209.
Child psychotherapy has made significant advancements since Anna Freud, Melanie Klein and Hermaine Hug-Hellmuth. However, the diversity in practitioners' approaches, training, and understanding of child development and evidence-based practices makes it challenging to be recognised as a leading profession in supporting CYP mental health. This forum aims to discuss the importance of a systematic assessment and case formulation framework to provide high-quality evidence-based practices.
