The Child Psychotherapy Council is dedicated to the advancement of child psychotherapy as a distinct profession within the field of child and adolescent mental health.

Jon Blend will introduce and reflect on working with the Oaklander Gestalt approach by presenting a clinical case, where he was supporting the family of an epileptic child, with the emphasis on family consultations and establishing a work alliance with the parents.

The forum of case presentation and discussion aims to present an insight into the holistic field of child and adolescent psychotherapy by highlighting the diversity and complexity of this unique profession.

Jon is a Master’s qualified Gestalt Psychotherapist and an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist working with adults, children, adolescents and families. His background includes over thirty years of counselling adults, children and families in private practice, NHS Health and community settings, also in social work and performing arts. Furthermore, he is an approved trainer with the Violet Soloman Oaklander Foundation.
