A nest is a circle of infinite intimacy, a field-hearth or hedge-hearth. Every nest whispers ‘home’, whether you speak English, Spanish, Wren or Robin. Jay Griffiths, Kith: The Riddle of the Childscape.

Through the use of images and experiential exercises, we will look at what is missing from children’s and young people’s lives when their connection to the natural world is threatened. We will think about how this shows up in the therapy room through creative expressions and how to welcome it in so that children and young people feel deeply witnessed and listened to.

The feelings of the Polycrisis began to land in my body about 10 years ago. This was overwhelming and led me to activism. Since then, I have undergone further trainings in eco-psychotherapy and grief ritual tending alongside reading widely and developing a community of support in both human and the other-than-human worlds. I am still an activist, but I believe there are many forms of activism, and that self-care and reflective space can be forms of activism too.

I have been an active member of the Climate Psychology Alliance and worked with the Youth Support Team for a number of years. I have also worked with CYP struggling with their feelings around the Polycrisis.
