CPC Membership Categories

CPC Individual Accredited Member (IAM)

IAM is a Child Psychotherapist who has met the criteria for CPC Individual Accreditation, in accordance with the application process. IAM meets all the requirements for annual, triennial and sexennial accreditation.

Annual membership fee: £160 (2023)

CPC Trainee Member (TM)

TM is an individual member who is a trainee on a recognised child psychotherapy training and is seeing children and/or young people as part of their clinical placement.

Annual membership fee: £60 (2023)

Student Member (SM)

SM is a student who attends a training in psychotherapy or counselling and is not yet working with clients. Student membership will expire after two years. For SM to be able to progress to other categories of CPC membership, SM would need to meet all the criteria for that membership.

Accredited Training Organisation (ATO)

ATO is a child psychotherapy training organisation which has been through the accreditation process with CPC.

Annual membership fee: £1200

Benefits include:

·         Quality Assurance of the organisation by CPC

·         CPC’s Logo on all ATO publicity materials

·         Direct route for graduates to CPC Individual Accreditation

·         Advertising opportunities

·         Opportunities for partnership with CPC’s endeavours, where appropriate

·         Regular newsletters and CPC information

 

Non-Clinical Member (NCM):

NCM is a qualified Child Psychotherapist who has met the criteria to

be an IAM, but who is not currently in clinical practice.

Annual membership fee: £60 (2023)

·         Advice and support on returning to practice when appropriate

·         10% discount on all CPC events

·         Regular newsletters and CPC information

 

Co-opted Member (CM)

CM are elected by the members of the Executive Board to fulfil a specific function or role in CPC. CM may not be a Child Psychotherapist but will have a set of skills and achievements related to the field. CM will be members of CPC for three years with an opportunity to be re-elected.

Annual membership fee: no fee

 

Honorary Member (HM):

HM are nominated by a CPC member in recognition of their contribution to the field of child psychotherapy. Nominations are considered and voted for in a confidential ballot by the Executive Board of CPC, whose decision would be final in this respect.
